The bearings in industrial fans operate at high speeds and relatively light radial loads. These bearings may also operate under extreme high or low temperature conditions, as well as in locations that are difficult to maintain. Fan airflow is often used for conveying materials. Over time, materials will accumulate on the impeller, causing imbalance and even reducing the normal operating time and service life of the fan.

The challenges posed by these operating conditions have placed high performance demands on the configuration scheme of wind turbine bearings. To solve these problems, a series of bearing application solutions for industrial fans and HVAC systems need to be developed based on extensive on-site experience. These bearing application solutions can improve cost-effectiveness and achieve fault free operation.

There are no two identical application scenarios

This is an obvious concept, but it can guide everything we do as a bearing enterprise. It guides us to design a series of bearing products and improve corresponding supporting services. To meet the unique requirements of customers for bearings in application scenarios and specific conditions. We accomplish this by adopting the latest technology and accumulating comprehensive application knowledge and experience. Our goal as bearing personnel should be to enhance customer value and help customers achieve a more efficient profit process.

Industrial high-performance hot air blower

No need for expensive fan upgrades to increase speed

The higher the fan speed, the more heat is generated by the bearings. If you want to achieve and maintain high-speed operation, sometimes you may need to upgrade the lubrication method of your fan: you may have to upgrade to higher cost oil bath lubrication, or even more expensive circulating oil lubrication.

However, in some cases, the speed can be increased without changing the lubrication method. The self-aligning roller bearing system for industrial fans and hot air fans allows for higher speeds and can help you address these issues. Optimizing the combination of components without the need for expensive lubrication upgrades, the full shaft system solution can extend the lubrication interval, reduce energy consumption, and improve the reliability of fans lubricated with grease and oil.

Spherical roller bearing system

Excellent solution for axis alignment error

Industrial fans typically operate at high speeds and light loads. High speed may cause excessive bearing temperature. In addition, the fan itself may also generate high process temperatures, which are then transmitted to the fan shaft. This may cause significant axial expansion of the shaft. The expansion of the suspension shaft may be significant, and the bearing is located on the opposite side of the impeller.

The solution for wind turbine applications has always been to use self-aligning ball bearings or self-aligning roller bearings for both fixed and non fixed ends of the bearing system. That is to say, the non fixed end bearing must be able to freely move axially in the bearing seat hole, so once it gets stuck, there will be problems. Blocked bearings may cause an increase in load, temperature, and axial vibration on the bearings.

Nowadays, the domestically supplied self-aligning bearing configurations include fixed end self-aligning ball bearings or self-aligning roller bearings, as well as non fixed end CARB ring roller bearings. CARB is fixed on the shaft and axially fixed in the bearing seat. The axial expansion or contraction of the shaft is absorbed internally by the CARB bearing.

The configuration of self-aligning roller bearings is an ideal choice for high-speed, light load fans.

CARB bearings and auxiliary self-aligning roller bearings can be installed in the split bearing seat, with a bearing seat hole tolerance of ISO K7. In the case of uneven height of the fan impeller, this can prevent the outer ring of the bearing from rotating in its bearing seat. The use of ISO K7 bearing seats can also reduce radial looseness in the fan system, which may cause vibration and noise.

High performance fans lubricated with oil bath or circulating oil

Oil lubrication suitable for high demand environments

For high-performance industrial fans operating at high speeds in high-temperature environments, lubricating oil is the most commonly chosen lubricant. Oil lubrication will ensure a decrease in bearing operating temperature and extend the interval for supplementary lubrication.

The simplest oil lubrication method is oil bath lubrication. For applications that operate at high temperatures, a circulating oil system must be used to lubricate the bearings and remove heat. Choosing the correct amount of circulating oil and the viscosity grade of the oil is crucial for the bearings to achieve optimal operating conditions. You need to find the appropriate lubrication method to provide an efficient and comprehensive shaft system solution for high-performance fans that use oil bath and circulating oil lubrication.

How effective is it? Extend the lifespan of lubricants and bearings, ultimately achieving better investment returns. For large fans, a complete oil circulation system should be provided, which can be customized to meet necessary requirements.

Spherical roller bearings+oil lubrication

It is an ideal combination of oil lubricated bearings

When using self-aligning roller bearings in oil lubricated fan bearing applications, we recommend using SONL series bearing seats. SONL bearing seats are designed specifically for oil bath lubrication, oil slinger lubrication, and circulating oil lubrication. The sealing design of SONL bearing seat can keep lubricating oil from leaking and exclude pollutants.

The combination of self-aligning roller bearing configuration and SONL bearing seat can provide the following advantages

Suitable for high speeds and extended lubrication intervals

Reduce energy consumption and maximize the pressure and flow of the fan

Extend the service life of bearings

Improve operational reliability

HVAC industry products and maintenance services

HVAC solutions for improving the environment

HVAC owners and operators are facing pressure to reduce energy consumption - not only because energy consumption is an important cost throughout the entire lifecycle of equipment, but also because people are increasingly concerned about environmental sustainability. Reducing maintenance requirements and noise levels, as well as improving the working environment, are also of utmost importance.

Bearing companies should provide corresponding solutions to meet the different needs of the HVAC industry. Resolve various issues related to reliability, efficiency, and performance of air handling units.
