Working principle of self-aligning roller bearings

Today, we will share with you the working principle of self-aligning roller bearings, allowing you to have a better understanding of the characteristics of self-aligning roller bearings, in order to facilitate the selection and use of self-aligning roller bearings.

Spherical roller bearings are generally divided into radial bearings/radial force, radial thrust bearings/radial force and axial force acting simultaneously, and thrust bearings/axial force according to the direction of the load they bear.

According to the shape of the rolling elements, they are generally divided into ball bearings and cylindrical/self-aligning roller bearings.

In terms of maintenance and upkeep, specialized tools should be used to disassemble and clean the bearings, check the working condition of the lubricant, and also inspect the wear of each working surface of the bearings.

In terms of usage, the working environment, including dimensional accuracy and machining conditions, should be checked before installation. During the installation process, the actual working environment should be referred to, and after installation, the parts should be checked for correct operation. In addition, it is necessary to consider various factors such as temperature and humidity in the working environment as much as possible to improve the service life of self-aligning roller bearings.

How to maximize the effectiveness of self-aligning roller bearings

When using self-aligning roller bearings, how can we maximize their effectiveness and ensure better operation? Yongda Bearing reminds you that in order to maximize the effectiveness of self-aligning roller bearings, you should pay attention to the following points:

Firstly, the oil should be changed after 200-300 hours of mechanical operation. We should pay attention to the quality of the oil during future use, and if there are impurities or deteriorated oil, it should be replaced in a timely manner. In general, for self-aligning roller bearings that work continuously for a long time, it is sufficient to replace the oil with new oil after 5000 hours of operation or once a year. For self-aligning roller bearings that have been out of service for a long time, new oil should also be replaced before resuming operation. Spherical roller bearings should be filled with oil of the same grade as the original, and should not be mixed with oil of different grades. Oil of the same grade but different viscosity is allowed to be mixed.

When changing the oil, it is necessary to wait for the self-aligning roller bearing to cool down, but it should be kept warm because after complete cooling, the viscosity of the oil will increase, making it difficult to drain the oil. Be sure to note: Cut off the power supply of the transmission device to prevent accidental power on.
